Bona Certified Craftsman Services by Premier Custom Hardwood Flooring
At Premier Custom Hardwood Flooring, we take great pride in delivering the highest level of care and craftsmanship to every home we work in. That’s why we’re proud to be part of the Bona Certified Craftsman Program (BCCP) — a mark of trust, quality, and professionalism in hardwood floor refinishing and care.
When you choose us, you’re not just hiring a flooring contractor. You’re partnering with a Bona Certified team that’s committed to the health of your home, the beauty of your floors, and your family’s peace of mind.
What Does Being Bona Certified Mean for You?
As a Bona Certified Craftsman, we offer what’s called the Five Star Advantage — ensuring that your hardwood floor refinishing process is cleaner, safer, faster, and results in floors that look stunning and last for years.
Here’s what that means for you:
Durable, Beautiful Finishes
We use Bona’s water-based finishes, which dry 3 to 4 times faster than traditional oil-modified finishes. This means you can stay in your home during the refinishing process and get back to enjoying your space sooner — often within hours (with socks on!).
Cleaner Air, Less Dust
Our Bona Dust Containment System (DCS) captures 99.8% of airborne dust during sanding. That means cleaner air for your family, less mess, and no days spent cleaning up after the work is done.
Lifetime Support
Your floors are an investment — and we’re here to help you protect that investment. Bona’s full line of maintenance products and services supports you in keeping your floors beautiful for a lifetime.
Trained, Insured, Trusted
Every Bona Certified Craftsman — including our team — is fully insured and undergoes rigorous training through Bona. We’re held to the highest standards so you can have confidence the job is done right.
Back on Your Floors Faster
Bona finishes produce minimal odor and are safe for you to remain in your home during the process. You’ll experience minimal disruption and can typically walk on your floors (with socks) in just a few hours.
Why We Choose Bona Waterborne Finishes
When it comes to your home’s air quality and your family’s health, we believe in using products that are as safe as they are beautiful.
Safer for You and Your Family
Unlike oil-modified or acid-cure finishes that release high levels of harmful fumes (including formaldehyde — a known carcinogen), Bona waterborne finishes emit very low VOCs and are GREENGUARD certified for indoor air quality.
Faster Drying & Curing
Waterborne finishes dry and cure up to three times faster, meaning your home is back to normal in less time, with less inconvenience.
Unmatched Durability
There’s a common myth that oil-modified finishes are tougher. But independent testing (like Taber wear resistance tests) shows Bona waterborne finishes outperform them in both residential and commercial environments.

The Importance of Indoor Air Quality
Your indoor air quality matters. The Environmental Protection Agency considers indoor air quality one of the top five environmental threats to human health.* Immediate effects of poor indoor air quality include irritation of the eyes, nose and throat, headaches, dizziness, allergies and fatigue. Indoor air pollutants may also trigger symptoms of some diseases, including asthma, reproductive and developmental problems, and cancer.
The traditional sand and finish process, which uses solvent based finishing products and lacks dust containment, creates an environment of hazardous airborne wood dust and harmful fumes in a home or business.
With our Bona Dust Containment System and low-VOC waterborne finishes, you’re choosing a healthier, cleaner option for your family, pets, and even your plants.

What is GREENGUARD Certification?
The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) is an industry-independent, non-profit organization that establishes standards and testing for indoor products. The Institute’s goal is to improve public health and quality of life by helping manufacturers build better and safer products. GREENGUARD certification is a third-party validation from an accredited and respected organization in the building, architectural and construction industry.
GREENGUARD is dedicated to helping contractors; design, architectural, and building professionals; and consumers, create clean indoor air. GREENGUARD certification gives you peace of mind that the products we use won’t pollute your indoor air with dangerous chemicals or particulates.
